Barrie Thorpe joined the Board of Reaxa in November 2007. Barrie was, until recently, Executive Vice President, Operations and a member of the Senior Executive Team of AstraZeneca. His career with ICI/Zeneca/AstraZeneca spanned 35 years including responsibility for business development and corporate planning in ICI Americas and from 1990, as Operations Director of ICI Pharmaceuticals and then Zeneca Pharmaceuticals, prior to the formation of AstraZeneca in 1999. Barrie is also Senior non-Executive Director of Renovo plc the world leader in the development of drugs to reduce scarring and is also a non-Executive Director of Teraview Ltd.

Barrie holds a BSc in Chemistry and a PhD in Theoretical Chemistry from the University of Liverpool and brings expansive experience of the chemical and pharmaceutical industries together with business planning, M&A and IPO experience.

John Nicholson joined the Board of Reaxa in November 2007 and brings extensive international business experience of the chemical and pharmaceutical industries. John’s career spans both the blue-chip and SME sectors and has substantial M&A and IPO experience. John is familiar with the management of early stage businesses and is currently Chairman and CEO of Gentronix Ltd, the Manchester University spin-out specialising in novel genetic toxicity screening of pharma compounds; he is also a Director of Reaxa’s corporate finance advisors Acceleris plc.

Chief Executive Officer and Executive Director

Peter Jackson joined the Board of Reaxa in 2004 and was involved in Reaxa’s start-up as a spin-out from Avecia where he served as Vice-President of Pharmaceuticals. Peter has some 15 years of global commercial experience in the pharmaceutical sector working with international blue-chip clients across the pharma development pipeline from pre-clinical to launched products. Peter started his industrial career upon joining ICI in 1988 and went on to manage both research and commercial departments at Zeneca and Avecia. Peter is a founder Director of MerseyBIO based Bradford Pharma Ltd.

Peter is a graduate of Chemistry from the University of East Anglia/University of Massachussetts and undertook a PhD at Durham followed by post-doctoral studies at Kings College, London.

Non-Executive Director

Howard Jones joined the Board of Reaxa in November 2007. Howard is a Chartered Accountant and acts as director of Finance and Company Secretary for Reaxa.
